How these numbers are made
  • Garbage: Recology Dixon's rates for customers inside Dixon city limits (table headed effective 10/1/26): $33.89 for a 32-gallon grey cart and $38.30 for a 96-gallon grey cart, each with 96-gallon green and blue carts. We read these as monthly prices.
  • Water: City of Dixon single-family rates effective 7/1/2026, a $33.03 monthly meter fee (3/4-inch) plus per-unit tiers; we treat a unit as one CCF and the tiers as monthly, as the City's water rate report prices in ccf. The City serves the majority of customers; California Water Service Co. serves the rest (EPA lists it as CA4810002) and has different rates.
  • Sewer: the City's published table (effective 4/1/17) is a stepped monthly rate by 4-month average water use; we model the 6-6.99 CCF band ($45.91). Your own band depends on your December-March water use.
  • Property tax: 1% plus Dixon USD bonds (0.018084 + 0.009483 + 0.034714 per $100), Solano Community College bonds (nine series summed) and the Solano County Water Agency State Water Project rate (0.02 per $100), all from the Solano County FY 2026-27 'Dixon Tax Rates' sheet for tax rate area 2000 (total 1.107488). City Community Facilities District special taxes apply to some subdivisions only; the City publishes dollar amounts only for the citywide services district.
  • Energy: PG&E E-1 (June 1, 2026) and G-1 (October 1, 2026) rates with the baseline allowance of Solano County territory S, as in the neighbouring Vacaville record; usage from EIA averages. Insurance is the California statewide HO-3 average for 2022 (the latest state figure the Insurance Information Institute page shows), not a Dixon figure; premiums have likely risen since.

Cities bill differently (some put trash on the tax bill, some cover more services), so a higher number isn't necessarily worse. The property tax rate is compared instead of dollars because house values differ.
