How these numbers are made
- Individual bills are confidential in California, so we calculate yours from public rates and what you tell us.
- Water: Golden State Water lists Cudahy among the communities of its Central Basin West area; the page uses its Bell/Bell Gardens system and Metropolitan District residential schedule ME-1-R effective January 1, 2026 ($37.81 a month for a 5/8 x 3/4-inch meter and $5.657, $6.505 and $7.481 per Ccf for the first 9, next 12 and over 21 Ccf a month, each plus the $0.242 per Ccf CAP surcharge, all times 1.007 for the 0.7% fee). Two small mutual water companies (Tract 180 and Tract 349) serve some Cudahy streets and are not modelled; Golden State balancing-account charges are not included.
- Trash: Republic Services; the City's notice for its July 7, 2026 hearing puts residential solid waste fees on the county tax roll with a 4.91% increase for FY 2026-27. We could not find the dollar amount (it is in a per-parcel annual report), so the total leaves out trash and is understated by the whole trash bill.
- Sewer: Los Angeles County Sanitation District No. 1 charges $205 a year for a single-family home on the property tax roll. Its June 10, 2026 Board agenda lists $238 a year for 2026-27; adoption is unconfirmed, so we model $205 and the 2026-27 bill may be $33 higher. We found no separate City of Cudahy sewer charge.
- Property tax: 1% plus the 2026-27 Los Angeles Unified and Los Angeles Community College District bond rates and the Metropolitan Water District 0.0085%, less the $7,000 homeowners' exemption, applied to the value you enter. The starting value is the median 2026 roll value of Cudahy single-family parcels. The Metropolitan Water District standby charge and any City special taxes were left out because we could not source that they apply to Cudahy parcels.
- Electricity and gas use the same SCE and SoCalGas rates as neighbouring Los Angeles County cities.
