Local Voter Guides

How the voter guides work

The local voter guides are independent, nonpartisan reference pages published by Veronata, Inc. on playpotus.com. They are factual: every statement links to a public source. They are separate from the POTUS game on the same site, which is satire. Nothing in the guides is fiction. No candidate, campaign, party or city government is affiliated with them or pays for them.

The rules every guide follows

  1. Every position links to the document behind it. No source, not shown.
  2. We include only official acts (votes, filings, commission actions) and on-record policy statements — the same rule for everyone. No personal history.
  3. Quotes are verbatim. We never write words for a real person, and never generate their image or voice.
  4. Each position says what it rests on: a council vote, a commission vote, a forum answer, or the person's own statement.
  5. Every claim is checked against its source automatically before it appears; anything the check can't confirm is left out. AI models do this checking and can make mistakes.

How claims are checked

Before a guide is published, each claim is compared with a saved copy of the source it cites: a council vote record, a filing, a ballot statement, a news report or the candidate’s own site. Anything the check cannot confirm is left out. Where a name or a fact needs context, a short note on the page says so. Guides are re-checked on a schedule until election day, and each page shows the date it was last updated.

Candidates and sitting council members

Each guide lists everyone on the ballot for the offices it covers, and the council members who are not up for election but will serve on the next council. Every person is held to the same rule: only official acts and on-record statements, each with its source.

Corrections

Every guide page has a “Report an error” form. Reports are reviewed and feed the next check. You can also email hi@playpotus.com.
