How these numbers are made
- Garbage: Republic Services' 2026 rate comparison lists Antioch at $41.39 a month for a 32-gallon landfill cart; the page uses it because no other Antioch cart size or rate sheet could be found. It is a 2026 comparison row (Republic warns some rates may change July 1, 2026 or January 1, 2027), so it may have changed since.
- Water: City of Antioch Master Fee Schedule effective July 1, 2026 (Zone I, the lowest zone): $29.30 a month for a 5/8" x 3/4" meter, $4.71 per HCF up to 11 HCF a month and $7.57 above. The City publishes no typical use, so the page starts at its default. Sewer: the City's flat $20.50 a month single-family charge; Delta Diablo's $557.48 treatment charge is on the property tax bill and counted with its flat charges.
- Property tax: Contra Costa County 2026-27 rates for tax rate area 01135, the most common one for Antioch single-family parcels (13,422 of 27,456): 1% countywide tax, 0.0843% Antioch Unified bonds, 0.0152% community college bonds, 0.0163% BART and 0.0018% East Bay Regional Park District, 1.1176% in all, less the $7,000 homeowners' exemption. Flat charges from sampled bills ($708.95 in all) are listed; the landscape assessment varies by zone ($82 here, $108 and $309 elsewhere).
- Not included: Mello-Roos and special assessments in newer neighborhoods (see the value hint). Electricity and gas: PG&E bundled service at schedule E-1 and G-1 rates; Antioch is not treated as a community choice city. Baseline and seasonal averages are weighted year-round. Insurance is the California statewide average. The gas baseline split (27.25 therms) assumes Antioch is in PG&E baseline territory S; PG&E's table names only 'the Central Valley portion and the Delta portion east of Port Chicago' and does not list Antioch, so that assignment is unconfirmed. Insurance is 2022 data, the latest on the source page.
