How these numbers are made
  • Property tax uses Cook County's 2025 agency rates for tax code 22011 (City of Park Ridge, School District 64, Maine Township High School District 207, Park Ridge Park District; total 8.268618 per $100 of equalized assessed value). Many Park Ridge codes carry the same rate; others differ. The City's rate combines its general, library and garbage levies, so garbage is counted once and not added to the bill. Forest Preserve, elections, Maine Township, road and bridge and mosquito abatement are grouped as other districts. The City's levy ordinance cited for the garbage tax is the levy year 2024 ordinance.
  • The starting value is the Census median value of owner-occupied homes in Park Ridge ($551,200, 2020-2024) times 10% times the 2025 Cook County equalization factor 3.0300; the $10,000 Homeowner Exemption comes off it.
  • Water and sewer: the City bills every other month. Fixed fees for a 5/8-inch meter ($15.23 water, $4.93 sewer) are divided by 2; the 2026 rates are $10.55 (water) and $2.24 (sewer) per 1,000 gallons. The City publishes no typical use.
  • Electricity: ComEd delivery charges plus the October 2026 price to compare, plus the ComEd municipal tax addition for Park Ridge (0.575 cents per kWh for the first 2,000 kWh) and the state tax addition (0.330 cents). Gas: Nicor Rate 1 plus the October 2026 supply cost, raised by the 5.15% utility tax Nicor lists for Park Ridge; Nicor's monthly riders (public utility assessment, low-income energy assistance, uncollectible expense, low-income discount) are added to the monthly charge and its per-therm riders (invested capital tax, storage, environmental cost, energy efficiency, volume balancing) to the rate; the 5.15% utility tax is applied to the per-therm charges only. Optional TotalGreen is not included, and Park Ridge has no Nicor franchise cost adjustment line. Nicor also lists a 2.00 cent per therm gas use tax for Park Ridge that applies to transportation therms, not counted here.
  • Not included: homeowners insurance (no official Illinois premium survey for Park Ridge was found).
  • Nothing here is legal, tax or insurance advice.
