How these numbers are made
- Property tax uses DuPage County 2025 final rates for tax code 8015 (Lisle Township with Unit School District 202; total 6.9497 per $100 of equalized assessed value), the Village's principal code.
- The starting value is one third of the Census median market value ($406,800 / 3), because Illinois taxes equalized assessed value (about one third of market value). The $8,000 general homestead exemption comes off that value.
- Water and sewer: Village FY2026-27 rates, bi-monthly meter charges halved to a month ($7.73 water, $1.25 sewer for a 1-inch or smaller meter) plus $8.04 water and $0.67 sewer per 1,000 gallons. The Village phases rates up each year through FY2030-31.
- Trash: LRS monthly cart prices for July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027. Yard waste is an optional annual subscription and is not included.
- Electricity is ComEd as in nearby DuPage villages (customer, metering and low income charges; per kWh delivery, riders and supply averaged over a year) plus the Village electric tax of 0.540 cent per kWh on the first 2,000 kWh. Lisle's electric aggregation program prices supply to match ComEd. Gas is Nicor Rate 1 (24.44 cents distribution plus the October 2026 gas cost of 33 cents per therm) and the Village 5.0% gas tax applied to the monthly charge and per-therm rate. Nicor riders are not included. Homeowners insurance is not included (no official premium survey found). Supply (8.413 cents) and transmission (1.69 cents) are the October 2026 to May 2027 figures from Plug In Illinois, applied to all twelve months; the summer (June to September) supply rate is higher, so the yearly electric cost may be slightly understated. Delivery and rider lines are from ComEd's January 2026 bill insert.

| Water | $696 | $872 | lower than 101 of the other 131 Illinois cities we cover |
| Sewer and utility-bill fees | $62 | $535 | lower than 122 of the other 123 Illinois cities we cover |

Cities bill differently (some put trash on the tax bill, some cover more services), so a higher number isn't necessarily worse. The property tax rate is compared instead of dollars because house values differ.
