How these numbers are made
- Property tax uses DuPage County 2025 final rates for tax code 5036 (Milton Township, Glen Ellyn Park District, Grade School District 41, High School District 87; total 6.8318 per $100 of equalized assessed value), the code the county booklet names Glen Ellyn. DuPage Water Commission and the sanitary district carry no rate in this code. Other Glen Ellyn parcels sit in other codes and some carry Special Service Area rates.
- The starting value is one third of the Census median market value ($544,000 / 3), because Illinois taxes equalized assessed value (about one third of market value). The $8,000 general homestead exemption comes off that value.
- Water $10.50 and sewer $7.57 per 1,000 gallons are converted to CCF (0.748 thousand gallons per CCF). Water service charge $2.73 and sewer service charge $2.01 are for a 5/8-inch meter, within the Village. The $3.00 Drainage Reimbursement Fee is a separate monthly fee. No Village typical-use figure was found, so the page starts at its default use.
- Trash is the Village rate from 08/01/26 for the curb cart sizes (base, branch and brush, toter, administrative and clean sweep charges together).
- Electricity is ComEd single-family without electric space heat as in the Lombard record: $15.26 + $3.81 + $1.17 a month, and per kWh delivery, transmission, rider and supply charges (supply $0.08413 and transmission $0.0169, Oct 2026-May 2027 Price to Compare, applied to the whole year) plus the Village electricity tax of 0.552 cents per kWh for the first 2,000 kWh. The electric figure is a winter-price estimate: the Oct 2026-May 2027 supply price is used for all twelve months.
- Gas is Nicor Rate 1: $21.30 a month plus 24.44 cents distribution and the October 2026 gas cost of 33 cents per therm, plus the Village natural gas tax of $0.02 per therm. The 33 cents is the Nicor Gas page figure for October 2026 (checked 2026-10-30); it changes monthly and Nicor riders are not included. Homeowners insurance is not included (no official premium survey found).
