How these numbers are made
  • Property tax uses the county's 2025 rates for the City of Oconomowoc in the Oconomowoc school district: city 4.16, county 1.28, technical college 0.25 and school 5.85 less the 1.18 state credit, per $1,000, on the City's average home value of $455,000. Rates are scaled by the county's 98.55% assessment ratio (equalized $10.36 to assessed $10.21 per $1,000).
  • Water: $14.20 monthly meter charge plus $9.63 public fire protection for a 5/8-inch meter; volume $5.93 per 1,000 gallons up to 70,000 gallons a month, $4.78 to 255,000 and $3.96 above (effective 10/15/2025).
  • Sewer uses the 2026 city rates: $8.50 monthly service charge plus $7.50 per 1,000 gallons of water used. The 2026 trash fee of $205 per household a year is divided by 12.
  • Electric is the city utility's Rg-1: $13.00 customer charge plus $1.00 commitment to community charge and $0.1285 per kWh, effective 8/1/2023. The monthly power cost adjustment varies and no current figure is published, so it is not added. Residential sales tax exempt Nov-April is not modeled.
  • Gas uses We Energies Rg-1 as on the Brookfield page, with the use assumption from the We Energies rate review.
  • Johns Disposal's new contract starts 7/1/2026 with a flat 3% annual increase, so the 2027 trash fee may rise; not modeled.
  • Nothing here is legal, tax or insurance advice.
