How these numbers are made
  • Property tax uses the county's 2025 net mill rate of 13.679663 per $1,000 for the Village of Germantown in the Germantown School District; the Village's own rate is $4.54 and the remainder (county, school district, technical college, after state credits) is the county net rate minus 4.54.
  • Water: quarterly $21.00 meter charge (5/8 and 3/4 inch) plus $5.07 public fire protection, divided by 3 per month; volume tiers of $4.35, $3.92 and $3.29 per 1,000 gallons with quarterly breakpoints of 100,000 and 1,000,000 gallons divided by 3.
  • Typical water use is the Village's average residential example of 12,000 gallons per quarter. A 3.0% water rate increase is planned for January 1, 2027, pending the Public Service Commission. A 3% sewer increase (volumetric and fixed) was also proposed for the first quarter of 2027; as of the September 5, 2026 report it was not yet approved.
  • Sewer: $41.61 quarterly service charge (divided by 3) plus $7.19 per 1,000 gallons.
  • Garbage is not billed separately on the utility bill and is treated as paid through general property tax. Electric uses the We Energies Rg1 rate. Natural gas uses the Wisconsin Gas LLC Rg-1 price sheet effective November 1, 2026 (Germantown is listed in the Wisconsin Gas LLC tariff, not the Wisconsin Electric gas tariff); no typical therm use is stated, so gas is shown as rates only.
  • Nothing here is legal, tax or insurance advice.
