How these numbers are made
  • Property tax uses the City's 2025 rates per $1,000 of assessed value for the Unified De Pere School District: City $5.4628, school $6.8035 less the State School Credit $1.1755 (folded into the school rate), County $2.6723, NWTC $0.5270, on the City's $300,000 example home. About a third of homes pay the West De Pere School District rate instead. The First Dollar and Lottery credits are not counted.
  • Water is the quarterly 5/8-inch meter charge $33.00 plus public fire protection $26.46, divided by three, and the per-1000-gallon volume rates; the quarterly tier breakpoints are divided by three. Sewer adds the quarterly collection $28.00 and treatment $4.90 fixed charges divided by three, and $2.782 plus $5.32 per 1000 gallons.
  • Typical water use of 4.01 CCF a month is the 9,000 gallons per quarter used in the Water Department's PSC notice for an average residential customer.
  • Water rates shown are those effective June 1, 2024; the City has a rate increase before the Public Service Commission that is not yet in effect. Storm water is $142 per ERU for the 2026 budget year; each residential property is one ERU.
  • Electricity and gas are WPS year-round residential rates as on the Green Bay page; typical use is WPS's 2024 residential sales per customer from EIA.
  • Trash is paid through property tax, so no separate fee is counted.
  • Nothing here is legal, tax or insurance advice.
