How these numbers are made
- Property tax uses the 2025 Waukesha County rate table row for the Village of Mukwonago in the Mukwonago school district: school 6.20 less 1.16 state credit, technical college 0.26, county 1.35 and village 5.64 per $1,000 (net 12.29).
- Typical value = Census median value of owner-occupied homes, $366,200, times the county's 94.45% assessed-to-equalized ratio. The village also lies partly in Walworth County and the East Troy school district, with different rates.
- Water: $39.20 service charge plus $34.69 public fire protection per quarter, divided by 3; per 1,000 gallons blocks of 25,000 and 475,000 gallons a quarter divided by 3. These are the rates effective March 2, 2026 (PSC Step I); a larger Step II increase is authorized once the Well 3 and 4 treatment project is in service, and is not included. Typical use is the utility's notice figure of 13,000 gallons a quarter.
- Sewer: $43.68 quarterly fixed charge divided by 3 plus $7.86 per 1,000 gallons. Recycling: $26.89 a quarter divided by 3; garbage and yard waste are in the tax levy. Storm water: Village Code §86-293 bills the charge quarterly ($8.32 per ERU per the 2026 rate sheet), but §86-289/§86-292 apply it only to parcels inside Stormwater Utility District No. 1, and the 2021 budget describes its fees as paid by properties in TID #3 (about $33,000 a year in total); it is not modelled for a typical home.
- Electric uses We Energies Rg1 and gas the Rg-1 price sheet effective November 1, 2026. Typical use is We Energies' rate-review assumption of 660 kWh a month and 865 therms a year.
- Gas omitted: no official source found stating which utility serves natural gas in Mukwonago (tariff pooling list alone does not).
