How these numbers are made
  • Property tax is Jefferson County's published 2025 total net rate for the City of Jefferson in the Jefferson School District; the rate used is the county's equalized-value rate of 17.24 per $1,000 (the assessed-value rate 16.393279 times the 1.0515 ratio), applied to the Census median home value $225,600. The Wisconsin lottery and gaming credit is shown as the maximum $249.71 for the Jefferson school district, owner-occupied primary residences only; the school levy credit is not modeled.
  • Water: $10.53 service charge plus $11.61 public fire protection for a 5/8-inch meter, monthly; volume tiers per 100 cubic feet: 1,600 / 15,000 / 316,700 cubic feet monthly breakpoints converted to CCF.
  • Sewer: the 2026 rate sheet lists residential-class charges by monthly water use (0-300, 301-601 and 601+ cubic feet: $43.65, $57.65, $87.85). The $87.85 tier is used for a typical household using 6 CCF or more; the sheet's separate meter ($16.30) and per-CCF ($8.50) sewer charges are not added on top.
  • Stormwater $3.84 and refuse/recycling $18.90 are monthly residential charges on the city utility bill.
  • Electric: Jefferson Utilities Rg-1 $15.00 plus $0.1033 per kWh. The PCAC schedule sets a base power cost of $0.0844 per kWh and applies the monthly difference from current power cost; no current monthly value is published, so it is not included. Typical use is the EIA Wisconsin residential average, 645 kWh. Natural gas (We Energies per the Chamber page) is not modeled: We Energies has two gas tariffs (Wisconsin Electric Gas Operations and Wisconsin Gas LLC) and the service-area pages could not confirm which one serves Jefferson.
