How these numbers are made
  • Property tax uses the Department of Revenue's 2025 full value effective rate for the City of Dodgeville (1.636%, after state credits), applied to the Census median home value. It is a city-wide average across all taxing districts, and the lottery and gaming credit for owner-occupied homes is not modeled.
  • Water: $11.00 monthly meter charge plus $13.05 monthly public fire protection charge (5/8-inch meter) = $24.05; volume $7.03 per 1,000 gallons for the first 16,700 gallons a month, then $5.86.
  • Sewer: $16.98 monthly base charge (5/8-inch meter) plus $6.75 per 1,000 gallons of water used. Garbage and recycling is $12.24 a month on the utility bill (effective March 1, 2026).
  • Electric and gas are Alliant Energy (Wisconsin Power and Light) residential rates effective 1/1/2026 with daily charges converted to monthly; typical use is WPL's average residential use from EIA and Alliant's 751 therms a year.
  • No stormwater utility fee was found for Dodgeville. Water use defaults to the page's standard because the city publishes no typical use.
  • Gas: only the base distribution and supply rates are used. Alliant's sheet says the supply base rate changes monthly with the gas supply market adjustment; that adjustment is not included, and no current Wisconsin Power and Light figure was found, so actual bills can run a few cents per therm above or below this rate.
  • Nothing here is legal, tax or insurance advice.
