How these numbers are made
  • Property tax uses the Department of Revenue's 2025 full value effective rate for the City of Milton (1.623%, after state credits), applied to the Census median home value. It is a city-wide average across all taxing districts, and the lottery and gaming credit for owner-occupied homes is not modeled.
  • Water: $20.00 meter charge plus $25.60 public fire protection (5/8-inch meter) bi-monthly, halved to monthly; volume tiers per 1,000 gallons with the bi-monthly breakpoints (22,000 / 110,000 / 6,000,000 gallons) halved to monthly.
  • Sewer: $12.00 bi-monthly base charge halved to $6.00 a month plus $6.72 per 1,000 gallons of water used. Stormwater: $15.56 bi-monthly per ERU, halved.
  • Refuse and recycling is a $184.20 yearly REFUSE COLL line on the Rock County tax bill (the same on every residential 2025 bill checked), shown as $15.35 a month; it is not counted in the property tax rate.
  • Electric and gas are Alliant Energy (Wisconsin Power and Light) residential rates effective 1/1/2026 with daily charges converted to monthly; typical use is WPL's average residential use from EIA and Alliant's 751 therms a year.
  • Nothing here is legal, tax or insurance advice.
