How these numbers are made
  • Property tax uses the Waukesha County 2025 table for C. Delafield in the Oconomowoc district: city 2.61, county 1.32, technical college 0.26 and school 6.01 less the 1.25 state credit (4.76), per $1,000 of assessed value (net 8.94).
  • Starting value is the Census median market value $555,800 times the county's 96.31% assessed ratio. The district was chosen because the table lists it first and the city's handout lists it with 4,060, the largest count shown; other parts of the city pay $8.15 or $9.96 net.
  • Most Delafield homes have private wells, so water applies only to homes on city water: $51.00 quarterly meter charge divided by 3 and $5.80 per 1,000 gallons. Public fire protection is $0.36 per $1,000 of assessed value per quarter, applied to the assumed assessed value and divided by 3. The default total includes city water and public fire protection (the sheet lists fire protection under its water-users section); a home on a private well would not pay the water charges, and the sheet does not say whether the fire fee applies to it.
  • Sewer is $116.46 per quarter flat for a single-family home (one DUE) plus the sheet's $13.00 quarterly sewer meter charge for a 5/8-inch meter, ($116.46 + $13.00) divided by 3 = $43.15 a month.
  • Garbage is paid through general property taxes; the city shows no separate fee. Electric uses We Energies Rg1 and gas the Rg-1 price sheet effective November 1, 2026; typical use is the utility rate-review assumption of 660 kWh a month and 865 therms a year.
  • Nothing here is legal, tax or insurance advice.
