How these numbers are made
- Property tax: St. Louis County 2025 Rate Book residential rates per $100 for tax code 108AD (Town and Country, Parkway school district); 108AK has the same total of 5.5123. The code lists no fire district rate. Other codes in the city (Ladue, Clayton-area schools) differ. Applied to 19% of the Census median home value; the Census figure is a market value, so assessed values may differ.
- Water: Missouri American Water St. Louis County rates ($11.00 monthly charge and $10.3749 per 1,000 gallons); typical use is the company's 6,100 gallons a month. Sewer: MSD base charge $34.85 plus $7.15 per CCF of winter-quarter water use (stored as 7.15/0.748 = 9.5588 per 1,000 gallons because the page meters water in kgal). Missouri American Water has a pending rate case (WR-2026-0304, filed July 2026, undecided); the rates used took effect May 28, 2025.
- Electricity: Ameren Missouri 1(M) averaged over 12 months plus FAC, EEIC and RESRAM riders, $9.00 customer charge and $0.19 low-income pilot charge. The city's 6.75% electric gross receipts tax is applied to electric and gas bills; the city's tax on gas was not found, so gas tax may be slightly overstated.
- Gas: Spire East delivery rate averaged over summer and winter plus the purchased gas adjustment, $22.00 customer charge plus $2.11 ISRS.
- Trash: the city does not set trash rates; residents contract with a hauler. The Waste Management curbside price from the city's 2026 hauler list is used as a monthly figure; the list does not state the billing period, so confirm with the hauler.

Cities bill differently (some put trash on the tax bill, some cover more services), so a higher number isn't necessarily worse. The property tax rate is compared instead of dollars because house values differ.
