How these numbers are made
  • Water and sewer: City of St. Peters rates effective Oct. 1, 2026, billed every two months; the $32.74 fixed water charge (5/8-inch meter) and the $48.44 residential sewer charge are halved to monthly; water is $2.64 per 1,000 gallons.
  • Sewer: St. Peters bills residential sewer as a fixed amount from average winter use (8,200 gallons gives $48.44 per billing); the household's own amount is reset each spring, so it can differ.
  • Property tax: St. Charles County 2025 combination tax chart, code R2 00 (St. Peters, Fort Zumwalt R-II, the largest school district in the city), per $100 of assessed value, on 19% of the Census median home value; Francis Howell addresses use a different school rate. The $28 and $12 yearly assessments are added.
  • Electricity and gas: Ameren Missouri 1(M) and Spire East rates as in nearby St. Charles; the city's 5% franchise tax is applied to both; the fuel adjustment (Rider FAC) is included; the energy-efficiency (EEIC) and renewable-standard (RESRAM) riders are not included. Ameren has asked regulators (case ER-2026-0291) for an increase that has not taken effect, so these rates could rise. Some addresses are served by Missouri American Water or Duckett Creek Sanitary District instead of the city.
  • Trash is the city's standard bi-monthly rate halved to monthly; the rate shown on the city page is effective Oct. 1, 2023.
  • Electric rates include the Rider FAC of $0.00445/kWh (secondary service, Oct 2026-Jan 2027) per Ameren Rider FAC sheet.
  • Nothing here is legal, tax or insurance advice.
