How these numbers are made
- Property tax: the 2026-27 Multnomah County consolidated rate for levy code area 240 (City of Fairview, Reynolds School District), $17.7721 per $1,000 of taxable assessed value, including a $2.1134 urban renewal rate that the county lists in this code area. Code area 240 holds 1,574 of the 1,582 Fairview single-family tax lots in Metro's RLIS taxlot data; 7 more are in code area 925 (same total rate) and 1 is in code area 419 (extra fire/district levies). Oregon has no homestead exemption.
- The starting assessed value ($241,280) is the median assessed value of the 1,574 single-family tax lots in code area 240 in Metro's RLIS taxlot data. Your statement's assessed value is the number to use. Measure 5 compression is not modeled.
- Not included: any Fairview franchise or privilege fee passed through on PGE or NW Natural bills. The City's code table lists franchise ordinances for both utilities but no percentage is published in anything we could read; Oregon caps electric privilege taxes at 5% of gross revenues, so the electric and gas totals could be a few percent low.
- Garbage: Twelve-Mile Disposal's rates effective July 1, 2026 for the first cart (Council Resolution 25-2026). Electricity: PGE Schedule 7 effective July 8, 2026 (year-round), per-kWh rate with the 1.5% public purpose charge folded in, at 784 kWh a month. Gas: NW Natural Schedule 2 effective October 31, 2025; new rates take effect October 31, 2026 and are not included. Insurance: the 2023 Oregon statewide average.
- Not included: any Fairview franchise or privilege fee passed through on PGE or NW Natural bills (we found no current official statement of the percentages).

| Total | $10,718 | $10,514 | higher than 23 of the other 39 Oregon cities we cover |
Cities bill differently (some put trash on the tax bill, some cover more services), so a higher number isn't necessarily worse. The property tax rate is compared instead of dollars because house values differ.
