How these numbers are made
- Property tax: 2026 rates per $100: City of Laredo $0.50608 (ordinance passed 9/21/2026), Webb County $0.3725 (adopted, per KGNS), United ISD $0.69629 (adopted Aug 19, 2026), Laredo College $0.225913. United ISD covers more of the city than Laredo ISD (whose 2026 rate is about $1.07; north-side homes differ). Municipal utility district and other special district taxes, and optional city/county homestead percentages, are not included; city or county homestead or senior exemptions, if any, are also excluded.
- Water and sewer: Laredo Utilities rates effective 10-01-2026. Each includes the first 2,000 gallons in the minimum charge. Sewer is tiered ($5.38 for the next 2,000 gallons, $5.47 for the next 6,000, $5.76 for 10,001–20,000 gallons, $6.17 above 20,000); we use $5.47 per 1,000 gallons.
- Trash: $23 a month for one bin, the rate the city page lists as of Oct 1, 2025; the page was not updated for 2026 when checked. The fee has risen about $1 a year, so the rate from Oct 1, 2026 is unconfirmed and may be higher.
- Electricity: Laredo is in the competitive market, so we use the EIA Texas statewide residential average of 16.06 cents per kWh, not a Laredo or AEP Texas Central price; your plan and delivery charges may differ. Typical use: 1,096 kWh a month, EIA 2024 Texas residential average. Natural gas is not modeled; many Laredo homes are all-electric.
- Value: Census median market value $193,500; the county appraisal district median homestead value was not obtainable.
- Insurance: $2,397 is a Texas statewide 2022 average; Laredo premiums may differ.
