How these numbers are made
  • Property tax: city 25.3 cents (2026-2027), Paducah Junior College 1.4 cents (FY2026 notice) and the PVA's 2026 county rate of 36.8 cents per $100 (state, county, health and other county-bill levies), plus the Paducah Independent school rate taken as the PVA's 2026 city-district rate of 112.9 cents less the city and college parts, 86.2 cents. The school rate was not final as of October 14, 2026, so it may change. The starting value is the Census median value of owner-occupied homes, $165,300; your PVA assessment may differ. The $49,100 homestead exemption is for owners 65 and older or totally disabled, so it is a tip, not taken off the typical bill.
  • About 54% of the city's real-estate assessment (west Paducah) is in the McCracken County school district, which pays 51.8 cents to the county schools instead of Paducah Independent. We model the Paducah Independent area; the city says fewer households are in the county school district.
  • Water and sewer: Paducah Water rates effective July 1, 2026 in thousand gallons (5/8 inch minimum $13.74 plus $5.81 capital fee, which cover the first 1,500 gallons; we enter the base as $11.86, which is $19.55 less 1.5 thousand gallons at $5.13, so the first 1,500 gallons are not billed twice) and Joint Sewer Agency charges ($21.72 covers the first 3,000 gallons, then $7.24 per 1,000). No typical use is published, so the page starts at its default.
  • Trash: $28.00 a month for one rollout, billed on the water bill. Electricity: Paducah Power System $20.50 plus .14397 per kWh (the power cost adjustment is currently a credit and changes quarterly); starting use is EIA 2024 residential sales per customer (about 892 kWh a month). Gas: Atmos G-1 as in other Kentucky cities, converted at 10.37 therms per Mcf.
  • Utility tax: Paducah Independent Schools levies a 3% utility tax in the state's 2026 table, applied here to electricity and gas for the Paducah Independent area; the state's April 30, 2026 table lists it as 3 in the Utility column for district 476. Homes in the McCracken County school district are not modeled and may be taxed differently. Insurance is the 2022 Kentucky average HO-3 premium (NAIC via Triple-I), the newest year on that table; it is an old statewide figure and is likely low for today. The 911 parcel fee ($47 per year for a residential unit) is on the city bill.
  • Rollout-assistance phone 270-444-8511 (Public Works) is listed for pay piles, not this program; omitted. McCracken County PVA sets assessed values (modelling note).
  • Figures model a home in the Paducah Independent school district area.
