How these numbers are made
- Tax: state 10.3¢, Boone County 8.2¢, Boone County Schools 64.6¢, library 4.1¢, extension 1.55¢, health 2.0¢, Florence Fire 15.0¢ and City of Florence 21.4¢ per $100 of the Boone County PVA assessment (the library, extension, health and fire rates are the 2025 worksheet figures). The starting value is the Census median, not an assessed value. Water, sewer and storm fees come from the city's residential rate sheet dated 4/1/2024: quarterly fees divided by 3; the 3% school tax the sheet applies to water charges (about $17 a year at typical use) is not added, so the water line runs about 3% low. Trash is the Rumpke waste plus recycling rate. Electric and gas follow Duke Energy Kentucky's Rate RS as modeled for neighboring Erlanger. Insurance is the Kentucky statewide HO-3 average for 2022, the latest year on the Triple-I page; actual premiums today may differ. Gas is modeled per therm with the Ccf rates converted at 1.037 therms per Ccf; Duke's ESM and PSM electric riders are not included. Water, sewer and storm rates are the 4/1/2024 sheet, the latest posted. The PMM pipeline rider ($0.27 per Ccf), the DSMR rider and the $0.30 monthly Home Energy Assistance charge are folded into the modeled gas rate and fixed charge; BCTAX on the water sheet is the 3% school tax.
