How these numbers are made
  • Property tax: Natrona County 2026 tax levies for Casper (district 150): 72.876 mills in total (state school 12, school district #1 32.5, Casper College 6.376, county 12, weed and pest 1, senior citizen service 1, municipal 8). Each mill rate is multiplied by Wyoming's 9.5% residential assessment ratio and applied to market value.
  • The calculator subtracts the 25% homeowner exemption from market value, then applies the 9.5% ratio and the levies. The starting value is the Census median market value, not an assessor figure. The county also lists a Downtown Development Authority levy that applies only inside that district.
  • Garbage: the City's 2026 Sanitation rate, weekly residential pickup. Water and sewer: City of Casper 2026 monthly rates inside city limits; the first 1,500 gallons are covered by the water minimum and the first 2,000 gallons by the sewer minimum; the next 500 gallons of water are priced at $2.72, shown here as $5.44 per 1,000 gallons.
  • Electricity: Rocky Mountain Power Schedule 2 price summary: $24.24 a month and 12.175¢ per kWh with riders. Gas: customer charge plus the 0.5443 $/therm total rate; the gas cost part changes. Typical use is the EIA 2020 Wyoming household average (9,180 kWh and 898 ccf a year).
  • Sewer is billed on the City's winter (January–March) average use, which the page approximates with monthly water use.
  • Nothing here is legal, tax or insurance advice.
