How these numbers are made
- Tax rates are the 2025 levies per $100 in Sarpy County for the Bellevue Public Schools area inside the City of Bellevue (Nebraska Department of Revenue car line table).
- Water uses the MUD W-1 'Outside City Rates' column; the $5.00 infrastructure charge is added to the service charge. Summer (June-Oct) is 5 of 12 months, weighted above 9 CCF.
- Electricity is weighted 4 summer (June-Sept) and 8 non-summer months plus the FPPA. OPPD's page says a new customer rate was announced for 2026 without amounts, so rates may differ from Rate 110 as listed. Franchise or in-lieu fees were not sourced and are not included.
- Levy rates come from the state's Sarpy County car-line distribution table, which lists each taxing body's 2025 levy; the same levies apply to a home's taxable value, which is modelled as the Census median value.
- Sewer: city code §30-137(D), 2026 rates; modelled as $22.82 for the first 2 CCF plus $5.50 per additional CCF of the winter-average (Apr-Nov) or actual (Dec-Mar) water use. Natural gas (MUD) is not included.

How Bellevue compares
A typical Bellevue house against the 1000 cities we cover nationwide, using the same default numbers as the total above.
| Per year | Bellevue | Median | Where it falls |
|---|---|---|---|
| Property tax rate | 2.12% | 1.36% | higher than 743 of the other 982 cities we cover nationwide |
| Water | $468 | $681 | lower than 764 of the other 999 cities we cover nationwide |
| Sewer and utility-bill fees | $741 | $692 | higher than 489 of the other 882 cities we cover nationwide |
| Trash | $228 | $336 | lower than 652 of the other 819 cities we cover nationwide |
| Electricity and gas | $1,510 | $2,439 | lower than 965 of the other 999 cities we cover nationwide |
| Total | $8,183 | $10,827 | lower than 773 of the other 999 cities we cover nationwide |
Cities bill differently (some put trash on the tax bill, some cover more services), so a higher number isn't necessarily worse. The property tax rate is compared instead of dollars because house values differ.
