Panama City Beach property tax: where it goes

A Panama City Beach house pays 1.089% of its taxable value in property tax, plus flat charges on the same bill. For a house at $441,300 of market value with the homestead exemption, that's about $5,084 a year.

Tax is levied on assessed value set by the Bay County Property Appraiser, less exemptions; after a home's first homestead year its assessment cannot rise more than 3% or the change in CPI, whichever is less (Save Our Homes). The City of Panama City Beach does not impose any ad-valorem property taxes..

The Bay County Tax Collector's table still shows 2025 rates. The county (5.4362) and school (5.3170) rates are the tentative/proposed FY 2026-27 millages from the county's Sept. 23 final-hearing presentation and the school board's published notice, and the mosquito district's (0.1155) is its proposed rate; final rates cannot be higher than proposed. NWFWMD (0.0201) is adopted.
