Schertz has one residential rate; smaller carts are not available.

Smaller carts are not available. To buy an extra trash or recycling cart, call the Utility Billing Office at (210) 619-1100 or go to Schertz.com/cartrequest.

Ways to pay less

• Low-to-moderate income owners: help with home energy upgrades (SHEEP). The Schertz Home Energy Efficiency Program assists low-to-moderate-income residents with upgrades such as air duct repair or sealing, insulation, efficient appliances and LED lighting. You must own and live in the home, the home must be 10 years old or older, and you must be a GVEC, CPS or NBU residential customer with at least one year at the address. Improvements are subject to city approval and available funds. How: Submit the SHEEP application and call Neighborhood Services at 210-619-1650 for a pre-upgrade inspection.
• Brush and bulk pickup every other week. Tied and bundled brush and bulk items go at the curb every other week on your trash day, with no need to schedule; brush/bulk is limited to three cubic yards. How: Check your Week A or Week B on the city's interactive route map.
