Ways to pay less
- Low-income seniors 60+ and households with a disabled member: sewer and garbage rate help. Keizer's Sewer & Garbage Rate Assistance Program is for households with income at or below 30% of the Salem area median income ($36,811 for one person); the garbage discount is 20% on the residential cart service package. Seniors must also pay for housing without housing assistance payments. Households with a disabled member must live in a single-family home, be responsible for the sewer and garbage bills, not already get the senior sewer discount, and send proof of the disability and income. How: Return the Senior Citizens or Disabled Member application to Utility Billing, PO Box 21000, Keizer, OR 97307 (503-390-8280).
