Port St. Lucie property tax: where it goes
A Port St. Lucie house pays 2.2% of its taxable value in property tax, plus flat charges on the same bill. For a house at $243,009 of value before exemptions with the homestead exemption, that's about $4,576 a year.
Tax is levied on taxable value: assessed value minus applicable exemptions (Save Our Homes limits yearly increases in a homestead's assessed value to 3% or the change in the CPI, whichever is lower).
The St. Lucie County Property Appraiser's 2026 table lists proposed (TRIM) rates; a 2026 final millage table is not posted yet, and the County's own site could not be read. The City of Port St. Lucie rates (4.6107 operating + 0.2643 voted debt = 4.8750) were adopted Sept. 28, 2026 (Ordinance 26-84). The other rates are the proposed rates, which final rates cannot exceed; the 22.0043 total matches the City's FY 26/27 budget hearing (County 7.2587, School District 6.2450, other districts 3.6256).
