Palm Coast property tax: where it goes
A Palm Coast house pays 1.812% of its taxable value in property tax. For a house at $350,800 of market value with the homestead exemption, that's about $5,566 a year.
Tax is levied on taxable value: the just value less any exemptions, at millage rates in dollars per $1,000 of taxable value.
Palm Coast (4.1387 mills, adopted September 23, 2026), Flagler Schools (5.312, adopted September 8) and the water management and inland navigation districts are 2026 adopted rates. Flagler County's figures are the tentative rates set at its September 3, 2026 first hearing (a final rate cannot be higher); the final September 14 vote was not available online (the county and property appraiser sites block downloads). East Flagler Mosquito Control District's figure (0.395 mills) is the tentative rate in its September 2026 hearing packet (a final rate cannot be higher).

Ways to pay less
- Low household income: defer part of your homestead taxes. Homestead owners may defer the part of their taxes above 5% of prior-year household income (3% if 65 or older). The deferred amount becomes a lien on the property. How: File the annual application with the Flagler County Tax Collector on or before March 31.
- Disabled veterans: exemptions. A veteran disabled 10% or more because of misfortune or while serving during wartime may get a $5,000 reduction in assessed value. Florida veterans honorably discharged with a service-related total and permanent disability may be totally exempt from ad valorem taxes on their homestead. How: Complete and file the required form with your county property appraiser.
- $5,000 exemption for widows, widowers, blind and totally and permanently disabled residents. Florida exempts $5,000 of property value for every widow, widower, blind person, or totally and permanently disabled person who is a Florida resident. How: Complete and file the required form with your county property appraiser.
