Ways to pay less
- Repaired a water leak? Ask for a sewer adjustment. The Town adjusts two consecutive bills a year to a six-month average after a leak; only the sewer portion of the bill is adjusted. How: Sign an affidavit that the leak has been repaired at the utilities office, 315 South Lowry Street in Smyrna City Hall.
- Filling a pool? Ask for a sewer adjustment. The Town allows one pool adjustment a year on sewer bills, for a pool that holds at least 1,000 gallons. How: Fill out a form at the office with the water used, or call in the meter readings from before and after filling.
- Smyrna Natural Gas rebates for gas appliances. Smyrna Natural Gas's residential rebate sheet lists $50 for replacing an existing gas furnace or water heater, and says existing buildings with no prior rebates can qualify with one gas unit when replacing electric or propane equipment. Supporting documentation is required. How: Use the Smyrna Natural Gas rebate request form on the Town's gas department page; supporting documentation such as the sales receipt and codes inspection is required.
