Who supplies power and gas to Summit houses and what a typical house uses: about 783 kWh of electricity and 87 therms of gas a month.
Electricity: JCP&L (Jersey Central Power & Light)
Service Classification RS with JCP&L's Basic Generation Service supply for June 1, 2026 to May 31, 2027; in June through September the first 600 kWh and use over 600 kWh have different rates, and October through May has one rate; charges include sales tax. Summit's community energy program supplies power at $0.1446 per kWh on its Standard Option or $0.1461 on its Green Option, and residents may opt out to stay on JCP&L's Basic Generation Service.

Gas: PSE&G
PSE&G's gas tariff lists the City of Summit in the territory it serves. Rate Schedule RSG residential service with PSE&G's Basic Gas Supply Service; charges include sales tax. In October through May billing months, Balancing Use Therms are charged a balancing charge of $0.097699 per Balancing Use Therm.

Ways to pay less
- Check your electricity supply rate. Summit's community energy program charges $0.1446 per kWh on the Standard Option or $0.1461 on the Green Option, under a contract that runs through September 2027.
