Every curbside home gets the standard 96-gallon garbage cart and a 65-gallon recycling cart; garbage is picked up twice a week. The $426.91 yearly assessment is on the November tax bill.
Changing your cart
The city lists no choice of garbage cart size: households get the standard 96-gallon garbage cart, and only city-provided carts may be used. To swap an old 35-gallon recycling cart for the standard 65-gallon size, or to replace a broken cart at no charge, contact Republic Services at 954-583-1830 or solidwaste@westonfl.org.
Ways to pay less
- Bulk trash pickup four times a year, and a free drop-off center. Weston residents receive four bulk trash collections a year from Republic Services, in January, April, July and October. They can also use the Broward County Residential Drop Off Center up to four times a month free of charge for yard waste, bulk waste, household hazardous waste and electronics. How: Check your bulk week on the city's Solid Waste Collection Schedule map, or bring items to the county drop-off center with a current utility bill or tax notice.
