Source
Pittsburg Water buys raw (untreated) water from Contra Costa Water District, delivered by canal to the City's own treatment plant; the water flows from the Sierra Nevada through the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
Wells
Two City groundwater wells in Pittsburg produce about 10% of the water supply.
Testing
The City treats and tests its water at its local treatment plant every four hours, and says the treated water meets or exceeds all state and federal drinking water standards.

Sewer

The City of Pittsburg maintains the sewer collection system and charges single-family homes a flat $15.79 a month for it, billed monthly by the City's Water Payment Center. Delta Diablo treats the wastewater. Its fiscal year 2026-27 residential sewer service charge for Antioch/Pittsburg is $557.48, which does not include the City of Pittsburg's own charge for wastewater collection ($189.48 a year). Most Delta Diablo customers pay that charge on the annual property tax bill.
