Scottsdale Water
City of Scottsdale water rates effective November 1, 2026: a monthly base fee that depends on meter size ($16.46 for 5/8-inch, $22.83 for 3/4-inch, $32.87 for 1-inch; this figure uses 5/8-inch) plus a residential charge per 1,000 gallons in five tiers (0 to 5,000, 5,001 to 12,000, 12,001 to 20,000, 20,001 to 30,000, and over 30,000 gallons)

- In 2024, 72% of Scottsdale's water came from the Central Arizona Project, 14% from Salt River Project, 9% recycled and 5% groundwater.
- Hardness
- About 13 to 17 grains per gallon (215 to 290 mg/L), depending on the part of the city.
- Lead
- Scottsdale Water reports it has discovered no lead service lines to date.
- Notice
- After a total coliform positive sample on October 17, 2024, a required groundwater source sample was not taken (a Tier 3 notice); the utility says it was not an emergency and not a health threat.
Sewer
From July 1, 2026, Scottsdale's sewer charge is an $8.49 monthly base fee (5/8, 3/4 and 1 inch meters) plus $3.26 per 1,000 gallons on 90% of your average water use in the prior December, January and February, recalculated each July.

Ways to pay less
- Leak or pool refill? Appeal your sewer charge. Scottsdale updates your sewer volume charge each July. If you had abnormal water use from a leak in the system or a pool refill, you may appeal your sewer charges with a sewer charge adjustment request; completing the form does not guarantee an adjustment. How: Forms submitted before June 20 are reviewed before the July sewer volume update; forms are not accepted after Aug. 31.
- Scottsdale Water customers: smart irrigation controller rebate. Scottsdale Water rebates the cost of a WaterSense smart irrigation controller, up to $250, for products bought on or after July 8, 2026. How: Apply online by April 30, 2027; if you cannot apply online, email the PDF application to the Water Conservation Office.
