Woonsocket trash pickup: cost and carts
Paid through the city budget (property tax); no separate trash fee. City of Woonsocket Solid Waste Division (Department of Public Works).
Houses of 1 to 3 units get a burgundy trash cart and a green recycling cart, both picked up weekly. All trash must fit in the cart with the lid closed.
Changing your cart
For a broken wheel or lid, submit the Refuse Cart Repair Request Form. The Solid Waste Line is 401-767-8880, Monday - Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm.
Ways to pay less
- Free drop-off for appliances. Any white goods (refrigerators, dryers, dishwashers) can be brought to the City Recycle Facility at 943 River Street free of charge, no sticker needed. How: Open Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 3:15 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 11:45 am.
