Who supplies power and gas to Rosemount houses and what a typical house uses: about 700 kWh of electricity a month.

Dakota Electric's residential rate (Schedule 31): $12.00 per month fixed charge, $0.14600 per kWh in June-August and $0.13200 per kWh in other months, plus a current residential RTA of $0.0054 per kWh. The City also lists Xcel Energy as an electricity provider.

Gas: Minnesota Energy Resources

Minnesota Energy Resources GS-NNG residential rate: $9.50 monthly customer charge, $0.32919 per therm distribution charge and $0.65533 per therm base cost of gas. The City also lists CenterPoint Energy as a natural gas provider. Rates are base rates subject to a Purchase Gas Adjustment, which is excluded; rates are from the tariff sheet effective March 1, 2024.

Ways to pay less

Income-eligible households: energy assistance. Community Action Partnership of Scott, Carver and Dakota Counties offers bill payment assistance and emergency energy help to eligible households; homeowners and renters must meet income guidelines.
