Mount Washington property tax: where it goes

A Mount Washington house pays 1.322% of its taxable value in property tax. For a house at $268,200 of market value, that's about $3,546 a year.

Tax is levied on the assessed value of the property, with rates stated in cents per $100.

The state rate (10.3 cents per $100) is the 2026 rate. The county, school, extension, health, library, fire district and city rates are the 2025 rates from the Kentucky Department of Revenue's rate book; 2026 rates were not in the book when we checked (the city's first reading in October 2026 proposed 8.6 cents, and we did not find the final vote).
