Changing your cart
Ask WM (G.I. Industries) to exchange your cart; each cart exchange beyond one a year costs $37.30.
Ways to pay less
- Seniors 62+: 10% off the trash bill. WM's senior rate is 10% below the standard rate for single-family customers 62 or older who live at the home: $27.13 a month instead of $30.14 for the 64-gallon cart. How: Ask WM (G.I. Industries) for the Senior Citizen Discount; WM may require reasonable proof of age and that you live at the home.
- Free bulky item pickups. Residents may request two free bulky item pickups per calendar year, with up to four items each time. How: Call WM at (805) 522-9400 or schedule in your My WM account.
- Disabled residents: free backyard cart service. WM brings carts out from the backyard, side yard or other storage location and returns them, at no additional cost, for residents who are disabled or physically challenged. How: Send WM a doctor's statement certifying disabled status and a signed affidavit that no able-bodied person in the household can move the carts.
