San Gabriel trash pickup: cost and carts
Athens Services. Billed by: Athens Services, the City's exclusive franchised hauler; under the City contract Athens prorates the customer's billing when a container changes.
| Cart | A month | A year |
|---|---|---|
| 96-gallon trash cart, with 96-gallon recycling and organics carts (standard) | $51.07 | $613 |
| 64-gallon trash cart, with 96-gallon recycling and organics carts | $44.93 | $539 |
From July 2026 every single-family home gets a separate 96-gallon blue recycling cart, at no extra charge, alongside a 96- or 64-gallon black trash cart and a 96-gallon green organics cart.
Ways to pay less
- Disabled residents: free trash cart roll-out. Athens Services must provide container roll-out service at no charge to disabled residential customers who submit a physician's certification of a physical disability to the City each year. How: Send the physician's certification to the City of San Gabriel each year; the City decides eligibility and tells Athens.
