Ways to pay less
- Low-income households: Utility Rate Assistance Program. Daly City's Utility Rate Assistance Program helps with water, sewer and garbage costs. Household income must not exceed San Mateo County's 50% area median income limits; funds are first-come, first-served and you must reapply each year. How: Apply on the City's URAP page or call (650) 991-8200.
- Seniors 62+ or blind/disabled with low income: utility users tax exemption. Residents 62 or older, or blind or disabled, with total household income for the previous year not over $42,300 can be exempted from Daly City's utility users tax on phone, electric and cable bills (not water or garbage). The exemption expires May 31 and must be renewed each year. How: Apply to the City Clerk with your PG&E, phone and cable bills and proof of age and income: 650-991-8000.
