Chula Vista electricity and gas rates

Who supplies power and gas to Chula Vista houses and what a typical house uses: about 400 kWh of electricity and 24 therms of gas a month.

Electricity: SDG&E

Schedule TOU-DR1 is SDG&E's standard schedule for residential customers; a typical household is most likely on this rate. SDG&E's April 2026 rate alert puts the annual average bundled bill (including SDG&E's own generation charge) for a typical non-CARE bundled residential customer using 400 kWh per month on schedule TOU-DR1 at $194 a month, excluding the climate credit. Base Services Charge: $0.79343 per day. San Diego Community Power is the default electricity provider for the City of Chula Vista; its generation charge replaces SDG&E's, and SDG&E continues to charge for electric delivery on one SDG&E bill.
