Ways to pay less
- Water leak adjustment. If a leak on your side of the house meter makes use exceed your average by at least 20,000 gallons, the City may adjust the bill: the first 5,000 gallons above average are billed at the standard rate, the next 10,000 at 50%, and the rest at the City's cost of water plus 5%. You need a plumber's invoice, or your own letter with the dates and location of the leak and an invoice for parts. Adjustments are limited to repairs made in the prior six months.
