Sewer
Denver Wastewater Management's sanitary sewer charge appears on the monthly Denver Water bill. It is based on your metered water use in the winter billing period (usually February) and applies from the March bill for the rest of the year. 2026 rate: $5.88 per thousand gallons, with a $16.06 monthly minimum; at 7,000 gallons of winter use the charge is $41.16 a month.
Other charges on the utility bill
- Storm drainage (2026 average single-family charge, billed twice a year): $15.88 a month
Ways to pay less
- Leak during the winter billing month? Ask for a sewer adjustment. Your sanitary sewer charge for the year is based on winter (usually February) water use. If you had a water leak then, Wastewater Management can adjust the charge and credit the billing periods after the leak was repaired. How: Call Wastewater Management Customer Service at (303) 446-3500 once the leak is repaired.
