Every home gets a three-cart bundle: a black trash cart, a 96-gallon blue recycling cart and a 96-gallon green organics cart. The 96- and 64-gallon trash bundles cost the same; a 32-gallon bundle costs slightly less.

Ways to pay less
- Seniors 62+ with limited income: discounted trash rate. Republic Services charges a Senior Citizen Hardship Rate to customers 62 and older who meet the income limit. In 2025-26 the senior 96-gallon bundle rate was $22.71 a month, against $26.97 for the standard bundle. - Free bulky item pickups. Single-family residents get 5 free large-item pickups a year at no additional cost, for furniture, appliances and other items too big for the black trash cart. How: Call Republic Services at 800-299-4898 one business day before your collection day.
- Free hazardous waste, e-waste and shredding drop-off. The City and Republic Services hold spring and fall events with free compost, and free household hazardous waste, paper shredding, bulky item and e-waste drop-off. How: Register for the next event on the City's Waste & Recycling page.
