- Source
- Customers receive water from four sources: the Sweetwater River (drawn at Sweetwater Reservoir in Spring Valley), deep freshwater wells in National City, brackish water wells in Chula Vista, and imported supply from the Colorado River or the State Water Project.
- Imported
- The region's imported supply is drawn from the Colorado River or the State Water Project in Northern California, or both.
- Treatment
- Surface water is treated and disinfected at the Robert A. Perdue Water Treatment Plant.
Sewer
Sewer service charges are collected concurrently with property taxes. Residential fees are monthly flat rates.
Ways to pay less
- Low-income water bill help (CARE or income limit). Approved Sweetwater Authority customers receive six credits of $30 each, applied over six consecutive water bills. Customers must show proof that they are an active participant in SDG&E's CARE program or meet the income limits.
